Cutting Mat renting

Joel Lee was asking our class to borrow each of our cutting mat for coming workshop that TOAP is organising.
If you have any cutting mat for borrowing, please reply to the class monitor by tomorrow(11/05/11).

Then, prepare you mat with your name stick behind.
Pass it to monitor on 14/05/2011 (Saturday).
TOAP will return once the workshop is over.

Things to Bring on Typography Fundamentals 13/05/11

So Allan Woong our lecturer for  Typography Fundamentals class sent a friend to inform us that:

Things to Bring: Printed Materials(English Language) eg: Magazine, Books. Note books or Laptop to copy a lots of things.

Please do bring some extra just in case our classmates didn't make it.

I  know some of our blog might not have a good content enough to compete with others, but what I encourage is that we can take part in Best Design Blog Award. According to the people who informed me, not much people take part in this competition yet. We might have a good chance.

ii. Consistency with content purposes with social value

iii. Quality and designs (include standard compliance)

e. Plagiarizer will be disqualified at once.

f. Exabytes and Penangyouth.com reserve the rights to reject or not to post any submission that reasonably appears to breach any of these rules.

Create a Colorful Cake Illustration

Some times we had a hard time when comes to create an illustration and we don't have good painting skill or drawing skill (sometimes I do feel that way). Then we try to make our illustration in AI.
Do you guys know how far actually we can go by using AI?

Yes the author used photoshop for the tut but he is making it complicated. This tut fits AI (not for certain part such as warp transform).

This how far we can go on AI, good work worth spending time on it.

WWF Bluefin Tuna overfishing

A very powerful advertisement I saw today. 

Try to include some concept in our artwork, so that it is powerful and interesting. We loves beautiful artwork with concept or story, beautiful artwork without concepts won't grab people attention and interest for long.

This site have some free psd resources where you can know see how pros are doing button or interfaces in photoshop.
Try them by download those psd and see how they were made. Learn from their layer, and they named their layers well, try to refer to them as well.
Don't copy their work and  paste it in your assignment, I share this this for learning purpose not copy cat.
