Flash Outdated?

We are learning flash in college, and it seem flash game is not as popular as we think of in the market, native apps can penetrate more audience that a single flash game. Flash is not supported by most smartphone as well.
Many of you might heard a HTML5 and scrolled a couple of parallax website.
One the example is this prometheus website: http://www.projectprometheus.com
In some of the features such as: http://www.projectprometheus.com/genesis/ they were using flash to blend into their website, when comes to http://www.projectprometheus.com/newworlds/, HTML5 + CSS3 + jQuery came in.
I remembered one of the lecturer told me that the reason the college is not teaching any HTML5, CSS3 is because it have alot of limitation when comes to interactive. Check out http://www.chromeexperiments.com/ to find out how webGL and HTML 5 canvas can work out together.
You might find out that HTML 5 is able to do alot of stuff but the technique is not mature and not all the browser supports it. It still in the middle of experiment state.
There are also goods of HTML5 and CSS3, is that we can browse with most of the mobile devices. We can make simple animation and interaction in our website, and it works across all platform.
In my opinion, flash is no doubt very useful, but I believe HTML is next big thing in terms of interactive. We shall give our best in learning flash as well, is the basics fundamental to scripting and game planning. If you cant handle it, you cant handle new language in future. If you are good at graphics only, you will always end up in poster design, might as well learn and master motion graphics.
Last but not least, here is a site you can see the different between HTML and Flash: http://flashvhtml.com/
Happy Pia-ing.
